Bristol Palin: Not Really Funny

Have you ever noticed how comedians always poke fun at conservatives, and then throw their hands up in the air when we’re offended?

It’s just a joke, they say. Get a sense of humor, they say.

Well, here’s the thing. John Fund makes a great point in National Review today that shows why we aren’t laughing:

It’s been obvious ever since Barack Obama appeared on the political scene that comedians rarely go beyond lame jokes about him. As far back as 2009, the Los Angeles Times noted that “TV’s leading political humorists have largely backed away from their ritual comic hazing of the president.”

During last year’s presidential election, a study from George Mason University’s Center for Media and Public Affairs reported that comics made more than twice as many jokes about GOP candidate Mitt Romney than they did about Obama. From late August of 2012 until early October, network late-night comics Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Craig Ferguson dumped on Obama only 62 times compared to 148 times for Romney.

In other words, the comedians don’t poke fun at the President because they try to protect him. Or maybe, with all this going on, they honestly can’t find humor in him anymore anyway.

Either way, it’s not really funny.

Mom and Dad met Willie from Duck Dynasty at the NRA conference and accused us kids of finally being impressed.

I have to admit, I love that Duck Dynasty has taken off like it has!

Who are your favorite guys on the show?

And, more importantly, should Dad grow a beard like that???

Gov. Palin Brings Message of Hope, Life, Human Dignity to Las Vegas

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin last night brought down the house at a Shareholders in Life fund-raiser held in Las Vegas. The event was closed to the press, so details on her speech are sparse, however, we have every reason to believe this was a very significant speech. We can point to some of her other significant pro-life speeches as guides to what she most likely said last night, the most recent being Gov Palin Urges Schiavo Gala Crowd to Fight for Life, Human Dignity. In 2009, Gov. Palin received an IGHL award for defending people with special needs and she gave a very significant speech on the sanctity of life in Vandenburg, Indiana a few months prior.

In the hours leading up to her speech, Gov. Palin and her daughter Bristol called out Obama for speaking at a Planned Parenthood event the same night. In Gov. Palin: There’s no such thing as a coincidence, she referenced the racist and eugenicist origins of Planned Parenthood and how the organization stood silent on Kermit Gosnell’s infanticides. Bristol Palin urged her readers to sign a petition to de-fund Planned Parenthood.

Gov. Palin has not merely preached pro-life values, but has lived them. Her youngest son, Trig, 5, has Down Syndrome. As we wrote in Happy 5th Birthday Trig Paxson Van Palin!, 93% of babies diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted.

Happy 24th Birthday, Sgt. Track Palin

BP-family-track-photo1

File Photo: Left to right: Track with barbeque lighter, Bristol, Piper, and Willow Palin with former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin giving Willow and Bristol bunny ears.

This Day, April 20, 1989, Track CJ Palin was born. “…[My] life truly began. I became a mom,” wrote former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin about her first-born child in Going Rogue, an American Life. “I had no idea how this tiny person, my son, would turn me inside out and upside down with the all-consuming love that swelled my heart from the second he was born.” He was named after the spring track (running) season.

Sgt. Palin serves in Arctic Wolves First Stryker Brigade based out of Ft. Wainwright. He was deployed to Iraq on September 11, 2008. Gov. Palin presided over that deployment ceremony, which included him. He was welcomed home on October 8, 2009 and he had re-deployed to Afghanistan to serve another tour of duty.

He has a daughter Kyla Grace Palin who will be two years of age this August. In 2010, as documented on Sarah Palin’s Alaska, Track’s father Todd groomed him to take over the Palin fishing business.

Today, we pause to wish Track a happy birthday and to thank him for his service to our nation and honor Gov. Palin as a mother, a grandmother and a Blue Star Mom.

3 Photos: Dancing Skies

Bristol Palin today posted on Bristol’s Blog:

Last week, much of the country got to see what we in Alaska get so often: the aurora borealis. My friend at Birch Leaf Photography takes amazing aurora pictures. Sometimes — when everything seems crazy — it’s nice to know there’s something beyond this world.
