Karen Harrington, Candidate, FL-23

Harrington said Wasserman-Schultz is an extremist, and two issues she voted for, the stimulus and ObamaCare directly affect her district. The mood in 2010 was to give Obama more time. Now, people ready for change, she said.

Harrington said she “has terrific name ID,” real world experience, and 38 years as business owner, employing 100. She has lived in Florida since the age of five. She said she “wants to serve, and not toe the party line.” She has been an independent her whole life and joined the GOP in 2010 to challenge Schultz. Though previously independent, Harrington was was always a conservative.

She said Wasserman-Schultz “is nervous” and is following Harrington to events, trailing her, and spending large sums of money to defeat her campaign. Harrington and Schultz only have in common being women, mothers, and cancer survivors, but otherwise are a stark contrast of vision.

Harrington has strong grassroots supports and endorsements, among them: SBA, which owns and operates Team Sarah, Mark Levin, and Michele Bachmann.

As a Christian, Harrington supports Israel. She grew up in a Jewish neighborhood and says she has a real understanding of who Jewish people and Israel are. “We must allow Israel to carve its own path to freedom, make Jerusalem its capital, and locate our embassy there,” Harrington said.

She supports legal immigration, but believes our borders must be secured. “We must stop giving illegals these jobs and come down on employers who do,” she said. Illegals will self-deport if they are not hired for jobs. Obama wants to give them a two-year pass to take our jobs. “We don’t have to reform immigration,” she said. We have to enforce it.

Harrington said, “Palin and Bachmann are two incredible women. It has to come from a strong family base. We are comfortable in who we are and what we believe in. We’re confident women. They come out with a smile on their face, come out fighting, and never back down.”

On the Chick-Fil-A controversy, Harrington said, “Chick-Fil-A Day was a great day for us. Supporting traditional marriage is not anti-gay. Business owner should not be punished for speaking under his First Amendment rights.”

Harrington thinks November successful for Romney-Ryan and many down-ticket races.

Harrington is supported by American Grizzlies United, but has not received Gov. Palin’s endorsement.

Sandy Adams Robo Call

Scholla played Gov’ Palin’s Robo Call for Sandy Adams and urged people to go to her site to volunteer and donate. Scholla interviewed Sandy Adams on July 14.

Ret. Col. Mike McCalister, U.S. Senate Candidate, Florida

Scholla then introduced Retired Col. Mike McCalister who is running for a US Senate seat in Florida, a state he said “will be important to taking back Senate, House and White House.” McCalister said he opposes Agenda 21, which is a “‘one world government’ concept based on international laws, taking away our sovereignty, individual and property rights, our guns,” and interfering with the education of our children. McCalister said he is “proud that the Republican National Committee has taken a stand against it and a few states have enacted legislation to stop it.”

He said the “United States Senate is a very unique body and in many ways our last line of defense as a nation, as a people and even for our citizens….The United States Senate is involved in national security, treaties, trade and foreign policy. McCalister says he has the best credentials, resume and training for that job.”

“The United States is under attack everywhere we look. We have to cut spending and pass a balanced budget amendment. We’re only 5% of the world and 95% of the world does not live here, yet they’re stealing our inventions, our research and development, our proprietary technology, and reverse engineering it. We have to protect our see,” he said, adding that “you have China building carrier groups and fighter squadrons.”

McCalister’s core positions are to enforce the First, Second and Tenth Amendments. He is firmly against gun control.

McCalister is a graduate of Command and General War Colleges, has a Doctorate in Business Management, and was a single parent, raising a son from age four till when he graduated law school. He has neither been endorsed by Gov. Palin, nor is he on the American Grizzlies United 2012 Candidates List.

SarahNET Radio Interviews Palin Endorsee Sandy Adams

This week on The Palin Update with Kevin Scholla: Congresswoman Sandy Adams, the first House candidate endorsed by Sarah Palin in 2012 is Kevin’s special guest! The Florida Tea Party darling is in a battle for her seat against an entrenched D.C. politician. Hear this Air Force vet and former law enforcement official explain why her conservative ideas are best for the Sunshine State and America! There is so much going on in Palin Land that this will be show one of two this week! Tune in NOW to SarahNET Radio ON DEMAND!

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin had endorsed Rep. Adams in 2010. Rep. Adams said her re-endorsement was special for her and “I’m so honored to have her help and endorsement….”

The Lessons of Service

“I think being the child of a military enlisted man – one of four [children] – and traveling with him and learning about different cultures and different things out in the world besides – you know – your own little community also helped frame who I was; along with the fact that when I enlisted and later was the wife of an enlisted man who was deployed, so I’ve seen the military as the child of a military person, as the wife of a deployed military person and as an active duty person. So, that’s given me a real round-about look at how the military operates and what military families go through on a day-to-day time, and it’s so important that we understand that these are men and women are out there fighting for the very freedoms we enjoy. And, I think that old saying is always going to be accurate. Freedom is never free. And these young men and women, they go out and they fight so we have the opportunity to live in a free nation and a free country, and so it really did frame who I am, by being a part of military life,” she said.

Scholla asked, “and your sheriff’s experience? Something similar?” Rep. Adams had received Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s endorsement.

“Yes, being a law enforcement officer was very fulfilling, and it gave me the opportunity to provide for my daughter. I was a single parent for the first 20 of her 25 years, and so having the ability to continue my service as a law enforcement officer upholding our Constitution once again – as you know when you’re sworn into the military, you swear to uphold the Constitution and when you’re sworn in as a police officer, you swear to uphold the Constitution – and that’s something that I take very seriously. And, it was a very fulfilling life. I loved my law enforcement career. I still believe that I’m a police officer through and through, because I believe in our nation, and we are a nation of laws,” Rep. Adams said

Stark Contrast Between Rep. Adams and her Opponent

“Now, your race here is another one of those incumbent versus incumbent deals, but you two are not the same. You’re a Tea Party freshman, while your opponent has been in D.C. forever and cuts deals with the likes of Barbara Boxer. Big difference?” Scholla asked.

“Yes. My opponent is 20 years incumbent….He loves earmarks, and he’s not ashamed to say it and he’s been quoted as saying it in some of the papers. But, the reality of it is we can no longer continue to spend the way my opponent has been spending. When he took office, we were left with $4 trillion in debt. We’re now almost $16 trillion in debt. Washington as usual has got to stop, and that’s one of the things that myself and 86 other freshmen were sent to Washington in 2010 to tell Washington, ‘It’s time to stop the spending. It’s time to get the debt and deficit under control and repeal ObamaCare,’ and that’s exactly what we’ve been trying to do and that’s exactly what I’m going to continue to fight for, because our children and grandchildren, and their children deserve to have the same opportunities that we have,” she said.

Rep. Adams said her incumbent opponent has requested at least $4 billion in earmarks so far.

“When you hear, ‘oh, earmarks aren’t so much,’ they do add to our debt and deficit and you’ve got to remember what they are: these are things that are kind of air-dropped in – in the middle of the night – and it’s to sweeten the pot so that people who were otherwise less prone to vote for the bill will actually vote for bad policy, because they’re getting something – that sweetener so to speak – in the bill. And that’s what happens. They vote for it,” she said.

True Conservative and Relentless Reformer Rooting Out Crony Capitalism

“In endorsing you, Sarah Palin said, ‘we must support conservatives who are with us on the issues, but not weighed down with the burden of crony capitalism that is so prevalent in Washington, D.C.’ She goes on to say, ‘unlike her opponent, Sandy is free from the shackles of lobbyists and backdoor dealings in Washington.’ On the money?” Scholla asked.

“Yes. Absolutely on the money. The people I represent are the people I represent: the people of this district and the people of America. I have always said from the very beginning that “Representative” is not a title. It’s a job description. I work for the American people. I work for Central Floridians and I’m going to fight for them every step of the way. Like I said, I want the same opportunities that I was able to have so that your children and my children and their children will have those. And right now, because of the way Washington is operating for all these years, during which time my opponent was part of it and is part of it, they have – both parties – put us on a fiscal cliff. And here we are. And if we continue Washington as usual, we go off the cliff, and we cannot do that. Our children deserve better,” she said.

“Now, your opponent has brought in a lot of money. I’m hoping you’ll bridge that gap now with Palin Power, but his cash – isn’t a lot of that from special interests?” Scholla asked.

“Yes. A lot of it, and we’re hoping to bridge it too, but I always say, ‘if you’ve got the right message, it works,’ and we’re looking forward to getting a little bit more support and we’re hoping that with the endorsement will come a lot of help our way from a lot of good, true conservatives throughout this great country, because we could use their help, and if they would like to come and help us, it’s very easy. All they have to do is go to www.sandyadams.com.

Rep. Adams’ Priorities: Control Debt and Deficit, Repeal ObamaCare

Sholla asked Rep. Adams what her priorities will be if she is re-elected.

“My priorities will always be: get our debt and deficit under control. Make sure the government is working for you – that you’re not working for government. And repeal ObamaCare. That is now – by the statements of our own Supreme Court – the largest tax increase in our country’s history – on the American people at all levels of income. We need to repeal it. It needed to be repealed when it was first passed, because we all knew that if you put government bureaucrats between you and your doctor that – it still needs to be repealed – whether it is a tax, a mandate, or a penalty – it still puts government between you and your doctor and it is going to ration care. And, as we have all seen since its passing, healthcare costs are going up, not down. People do not like this, and they have asked us to repeal it and we are going to keep on until we do,” Rep. Adams said.

Rep. Adams’ Pro-Life and Staunch Supporter of Second Amendment

“It also looks like anyone who is pro-life or who cares about either the Second or the Fifth Amendment should vote for you too,” Scholla said.

“Oh yes! I am definitely pro-life, and I love my Amendments. Let’s put it that way. I do carry a gun. I’ve been a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment all the way through my career, and I’m going to fight to ensure that all our Amendments are protected, but I do believe in life and I definitely believe in our Second Amendment,” Rep. Adams said.

Rep. Adams on Gov. Palin’s 100% Successful Endorse Record for 2012 and Leadership

Scholla asked if Rep. Adams was impressed with Gov. Palin’s endorsement record so far. She is now the seventh candidate this year to be endorsed. Five primaries have been held and 100% of Gov. Palin’s endorsed candidates won those primaries. “I think Mama Grizzlies enjoy this sort of thing: helping those who want to protect the Constitution and busting out the endorsements, teeth, claws, and all when necessary,” Scholla said.

“I think you’re absolutely right, and I am impressed with the Governor, and I’ve always been impressed with her. She’s a strong lady. She cares about this country, and she fights for what she believes in, and those are all great characteristics,” Rep. Adams said.

Sarah Palin Radio Interviews Conservatives for Congress in FL-24, AZ-5

Sarah Palin Radio

“[Matt Salmon] understands Congress because he used to be a Member of Congress. He is, in fact, one of the original ‘boat rockers’ elected to Congress in 1994. Unlike most politicians, he honored his term limits pledge and left Congress in 2000 but not before taking on both the House Republican leadership and Bill Clinton on out-of-control spending. In fact, [Salmon] was named ‘Watch Dog of the Treasury’ six years in a row while in Congress,” LaDonna Hale Curzon, host and Executive Producer, Sarah Palin Radio wrote in her synopsis of the interview with the candidate who speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Salmon has denounced the Obama administration’s failed policy on immigration. He said the only Supreme Court Justice who got the immigration ruling right was Scalia who held that the states are sovereign entities. Salmon served three terms in the House until 2000. He was the Republican nominee for governor of Arizona and lost to Janet Napolitano in the closest election in Arizona’s history. Pat Toomey, Tom Coburn, the Club for Growth, and Citizens United, among others have endorsed Salmon. All the major conservative and Tea Party groups have endorsed him. Salmon said Obama does not understand or respect states rights, separation of powers, or the Tenth Amendment.

He said if the Republicans don’t hold Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress, “they are sissies.” He said “Fast and Furious” “is going to make Watergate look like the petty larceny that it was.”

He said Obama has to be held accountable and challenged at every turn.

Salmon supports balanced budget proposals with five-year goals. He said we don’t have the luxury of time to support the longer-term budgets.

He thanked Sarah Palin Radio’s listeners in Mandarin Chinese. His language skills picked up as a Mormon missionary helped him get a Chinese political prisoner released. Salmon had been sent to China by former President Clinton to repair our relationship after we accidentally bombed the Chinese embassy in Belgrade during the Kosovo War. Salmon also “proudly voted to impeach Clinton, but he had done far less [wrong] than what Obama has done.” The prisoner came to Pennsylvania and became a United States citizen.

“With support from Gov. Sarah Palin, Rep. Adams defeated a Democrat incumbent by 20 points in 2010, despite being outspent by two to one,” Curzon said in leading her synopsis of her interview with the candidate. “Now, Rep. Adams must run against a fellow Republican incumbent in a redrawn district. The differences between the two couldn’t be more [stark]. Rep. Adams is the upstart, Tea Party freshman while her opponent is the Republican old guard [who] has spent 20 years in Congress.”

Adams has served in the US Air Force and was also a deputy sheriff for 17 years. She said constituents could choose between an establishment Republican bent on continuing power-broking, behind-the-scenes deals, and earmarks, or a conservative candidate who is going to clean things up and listen to the people. She has held 24 in-person town halls in her district. “Unless you’re there talking with your constituents, you have no idea what’s on their mind,” she said. She has asked her colleagues to make the moratorium on earmarks a permanent ban. The moratorium expires when the next Congress sits. She said earmarks only build our debt and deficit and allow spending on poorly thought-out projects to be hidden.

Adams’ opponent had offered to “swap districts” with her stating that she could easily win in the swapped district. Though she could have, Adams said she was not running merely to get elected but running for “the right reasons,” which are: “I care what is happening to this country. I care about what these policies that are being put in place by this administration are doing to the country.

Adams believes the Tea Party success of 2010 will continue through this election cycle. National Right to Life, Susan B. Anthony List (owners and operators of Team Sarah), and David Barton, among others have endorsed her campaign. “I look at these endorsements as special, because they’re from real people, not just a bunch of elected officials,” she said.

Adams said the critical issue in her district is ObamaCare, “which is strangling our small businesses,” and over-regulation. Insurance rates have gone up and businesses are reluctant to hire, she said. “Americans want to work,” Adams said. It was through work, that she rebuilt her life after leaving her husband who was a violent alcoholic.

She said the contradiction of Attorney General Holder claiming Obama was not involved with “Fast and Furious,” while Obama exerted executive privilege raises serious questions.

She said Obama’s “Catch and Release” immigration policies steps outside the legal bounds of the Executive Branch. It is Congress’ job to set immigration policies. She considers his policy “backdoor amnesty,” said he side-stepped Congress and possibly added up to one million people to the unemployment line by so doing.

She said Marco Rubio, who presumptive nominee Mitt Romney is vetting would do well as a Vice President. Adams had served with Rubio in the Florida House of Representatives, knows him well and considers him a friend.
