As you can see, the Iron Dog race is a big part of our lives. In Episode nine, my whole family worried about Dad while he was on the 2,000 mile trek. In many Iron Dogs, more racers drop out than finish. The injuries, bad weather, machine break downs, and fatigue take a toll on everyone.

I’m not even sure what to say this morning, except to join in the national sadness over the shooting in Colorado.

Let’s all pray for the families of the victims and hold our loved ones a little bit more tightly today.

Also, I just heard on Fox that there are military “casualties,” so please join me in prayer that all of our military survived this tragedy.

This day, March 19, 2001, Piper Indi Grace Palin was born. She was named after Todd Palin’s Piper Super Cub and Governor Palin’s baby shower for her was held at the Grouse Ridge Shooting Range. “Indi” signifies independence and “Grace” signifies God’s grace (Palin, 2009, p. 76).

On this, her tenth birthday, we wish Piper a healthy, prosperous future, filled with love and high achievement.
