Palin to NRA: ‘Our leaders are in it for themselves, not the American people’

The National Rifle Association has been vilified by a slanted media. The law abiding, patriotic group has been painted as the bad guy on the heels of Sandy Hook and other acts of violence. Leftist politicians have lied about the NRA and they’ve exploited children every step of the way to create a false narrative. If any group needed a boost it is the NRA. Well, that boost came in a big way Friday afternoon in Texas, grizzly style. The NRA’s annual convention kicked off in Houston and Governor Sarah Palin, who has fought for our Second Amendment like no one else, addressed the massive crowd.

This year’s NRA theme is “Stand and Fight”. How appropriate. Governor Palin has stood her ground against the attacks and has fought for gun owners without wavering.

SarahNET Radio was on hand for Palin’s remarks which led of with a well received “We are fighting the fight!”.

“Leaders are in it for themselves not for the American people,” Palin said wearing a ‘Women Hunt’ T-shirt. “Emotion is not leadership.” Palin gave a voice to what commonsense citizens have been thinking.

Palin pointed out that the same media that buried George W. Bush serves as a cheerleader for Barack Obama, who according to Palin “wrote the book on exploiting tragedy.”

Along with Obama, Palin also called out Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein for using unethical tactics. “It’s not just self serving,” Palin said. “It’s destructive and it must stop.”

Showing once again that she can use props to effectively deliver a message better than Carrot Top, Governor Palin whipped out a tin of smokeless tobacco when addressing the hypocrisy of New York City Mayor Bloomberg who wants it to be illegal to display legal tobacco products. The move was met with laughs and cheers, similar to the response the. Palin Big Gulp received at CPAC earlier this year. She joked that she swiped the dip from Todd. On Bloomberg Palin said he’s “bitterly clinging to the notion that government must control the people.”

Palin quoted John Adams and Maragert Thatcher and told the crowd we can learn lessons of freedom from them.

Things turned ultra-serious when Palin used the Kermit Gosnell case as an example of how sorely we lack integrity in the media. The Governor said there’s been nothing but silence while this “monstrous mass murderer” butched babies.

The battle for the Second Amendment is personal to Governor Palin. “This fight is about what kind of people we are,” Palin said. She added that she wants her son Trig to grow up in an exceptional country. The Second Amendment is a necessary component.

There’s no mistake about the heart and spirit of those who hold our Second Amendment dear. What drives Governor Palin is equally clear. “What keeps us reloading in this fight is the faces I see here today,” Palin said. “I love you guys.”

Governor Palin closed out her optimistic speech while those in attendance cheered and clapped. “Keep the faith,” Palin implored. “Stand up for our freedoms. God bless you all. God bless the United States of America”

Just weeks ago the liberal Toomey-Manchin gun control bill was shot down and then Friday, Sarah Palin assured us that we will continue to battle anyone who tries to pick apart our sacred right to bear arms. Great news for the NRA. Great news for liberty. Great news for America.

SarahPAC: Support Principled Leaders

sarahpac-photo-4-29-2013-sm-1200dpi

1200-dpi scan of 8 x 10 autographed photo of former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s Liberty Pose at CPAC, which accompanied a fund-raising letter to mid-range donors

Ed. Note: The following letters were sent via Postal Mail by SarahPAC. Every attempt has been made to reproduce them as faithfully as possible to their original formatting.

Though not requested in these letters and not authorized by SarahPAC, now is a good time to bundle a small-donor money bomb with this. Imagine if half of the over 3.5 million supporters on Gov. Palin’s Facebook page donated just $2. SarahPAC would raise $3.5 million minus transaction fees. If half these supporters donated just $5, SarahPAC could have $8.75 million. With $10 donations, half of the supporters on Gov. Palin’s Facebook wall could generate $17.5 million for SarahPAC. Though this fund-raising letter is geared toward mid-range donors, donations of any amount will help SarahPAC and make a big difference.

SarahPAC-North-Star

Dear [Donor],

Last month at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) outside Washington, DC, Gov. Palin brought the house down.

During her speech, she paused for a moment, pulled out a “Big Gulp” soda pop, and took a nice long drink.

The crowd went wild.

As she put it, “Oh, Bloomberg’s not around. Our Big Gulp’s are okay. Shoot, it’s just pop with low-cal ice cubes in it. I hope that’s okay.”

It was such a great moment.

A wonderful illustration of how absolutely ridiculous the liberals have become in their efforts to have the government run every aspect of our lives.

And as one of SarahPAC’s generous supporters, I want you to have this exclusive photo of that special moment.

After the speech, some even called it the “Palin Liberty Pose” saying Gov. Palin looked like the Statue of Liberty as she held her Big Gulp aloft.

But if you know Gov. Palin, you know it’s never about her. It’s about this great country you and I love.

And that’s what Sarah talked about during her speech:

If “Believe in America” is more than just a catchy campaign slogan, then we have to believe in America’s exceptionalism, and her greatest achievement that no one is guaranteed success but everyone is guaranteed an equal opportunity at success.

The greatest lie that the government tells is that government is the way to realize this guarantee. There is a simple reason why Washington, DC is an island of prosperity in a nation mired in near recession. Whenever government expands, it’s the well-connected that reap the benefit. The more government intrudes into our lives and businesses, the more it picks winners and losers.

The more crony capitalists win, the more the rest of us lose. Whether it’s green energy or free Obama phones or prophylactics, if you don’t have a team of lobbyists in DC or a canceled contribution check, you’re not at the table – you’re on the menu.

As you know, [Donor], our goal here at SarahPAC is to put an end to this big government, crony capitalism approach by electing principled leaders who will stand for freedom.

People like Sen. Ted Cruz, who’s been doing an amazing job in Washington and introduced Gov. Palin at CPAC by stating: “I would not be a Senator today if it weren’t for Sarah Palin.”

[Donor], Ted Cruz can say that because of you.

It’s your support for SarahPAC that allows Gov. Palin to have such an impact on political races.

And, my friend, we’re just getting started.

Gov. Palin concluded her remarks at CPAC with this:

I have been so blessed to spend so much of these past years getting to know even more of America, not from the top down, but from the heart looking out.

And this I know, there is more wisdom, more character, more grit and common sense in the soldiers and the Mom’s and the teacher’s and the laborers and the firemen and the fishermen and the students and the cowboys – and other extraordinary Americans that I’ve met along the way, than will ever be found in the cocktail parties of power across the river.

And if “We the People” have one message to send to Washington, I’m sure it would be this: Get Over Yourself. It’s not about you.

Isn’t that the truth!

It’s not about the consultants and pollsters and power brokers who think they know so much.

It’s about America. And freedom. And liberty. And principles. And the Constitution.

[Donor], I’ve said this before, but let me just say it once again.

The Left wants to elect people who will help Barack Obama “fundamentally transform America.”

We want to elect people who will “fundamentally transform the way Washington does business.”

Leaders who will put:

*** real people over petty politics

*** strong principles over empty promises

***and foundational ideals over self interests

Will you continue to help us, [Donor]?

Can I count on you to continue standing with Governor Palin and SarahPAC?

Will you renew your support today by sending a contribution of $100, $150, or even $200?

Whether $100, $150, $200, or any other amount, every dollar you can send will make a real difference as Governor Palin and our entire SarahPAC team work to elect a new generation of conservative leaders.

Leaders who will stand against the big government, big spending, crony capitalists in BOTH parties.

Thanks in advance for your generosity and faithfulness. And thanks for standing with Gov. Palin for liberty and freedom!

Sincerely,

Tim Crawford Signature

@SarahNETRadio, Women Patriots: Gov Palin Knows Her Mind, Not Afraid to Speak it

This week Sarah Palin was the topic when SarahNET Radio’s Kevin Scholla stopped by Women Patriots on Conservative Radio Network! Hosts Barbara and Brenda talk to Kevin about Governor Palin’s influence on the culture war, her patriotism, her incredible record of accomplishment, and much more.

Woman Who Knows Her Mind and Not Afraid to Speak it

Barbara and Brenda, the hosts of Women Patriots out of North Carolina and Indiana said about former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, “I love a woman who knows her mind and isn’t afraid to speak it,” in a 71-minute interview with Kevin Scholla, host of SarahNET Radio earlier this week. Scholla said he admires Gov. Palin because she is unfiltered and honest. He became a supporter months before she ran for Vice President. Gov. Palin and Scholla exchanged emails when she was pregnant with Trig. Scholla’s daughter was due two months after Trig. He discussed the Presidential race in those emails and told Gov. Palin he hoped McCain would pick her as his running mate. When that day came, Scholla went on to campaign for her, and like so many of us, wanted her to run for President in 2012 the night Obama won.

Genesis of SarahNET Radio

Scholla’s professional radio, TV, and writing backgrounds and his partnership with SarahNET.net were the genesis of SarahNET Radio, which was conceived “to give the real news on her,” and counter the steady stream of leftist media drivel. When Gov. Palin announced that she would not run for President on October 5, 2011, many shows had already aired. Scholla’s decision was immediate. The show must go on. “Gov. Palin’s values, ideas, and message” were not going to cease because she did not run in 2012.

Many Men Would Have Caved…

Scholla and the hosts discussed how politics have devolved into a battle to save the Constitution from leftists who want to subvert and destroy it. Scholla said, “Gov. Palin the true epitome of America,” and her enemies are jealous of her successes in all areas of her life. “I do this for my daughter. There is no better role model than Sarah Palin…she takes the shots and does not back down.” He continued, “if you look at the history of what she’s been through and interview her now versus ’06 and ’07, nothing’s changed, except maybe the millions of people who want to stand and have a picture with her.” He added that “many men would have caved.”

Gov. Palin for Everything the Left is Against

Scholla said he’d rather have an honest person disagree with him on nine out of 10 issues than flip-flop, go along to get along, engage in double-talk, and run to political talking points. He said the left hates Gov. Palin because “she is for everything this modern-day Democratic Party is against.” She is “for America, for life, for liberty, for freedom, for the Constitution, for personal responsibility, traditional values, for the Second Amendment.” The left loves RINOs, because they can easily be painted into a box with phony memes and destroyed. Gov. Palin is a polar opposite and offers actual alternatives and solutions.

The left loves to talk about Gov. Palin’s “irrelevancy.” Scholla had written a non-political article about the influence of sports on the Heaths’ lives and on Sarah as a young Heath daughter. It was besieged with comments bashing and insulting Gov. Palin as “a moron.” If she is so irrelevant, why did all these commenters come out of the woodwork?

The Real War on Women

One of the hosts said “the media went after her because they were scared. She is a strong woman. A Republican woman. She is a mother. You want to talk about women’s rights, they don’t want to have that conversation about a woman being appreciated for who she is and not what her body looks like.”

“If you are not a white Protestant male and you are a conservative, they freak out,” Scholla said. Ted Cruz and Ben Carson are experiencing the same thing; Herman Cain, and Mia Love went through it too. The Democratic Party behaves as if it owns you, he said. “When you have a woman who looks like Sarah Palin and has the abilities of Sarah Palin, they freak out,” because she can attract young people, women – that is their core constituency.

He said they don’t merely disagree with you, but “they hate you and go after you in a really weird, visceral way.”

The War on Conservatives

Brenda, Barbara, and Scholla spoke about the left’s attempts to silence conservative media such as Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, and others.

Scholla then spoke about Gov. Palin’s ability to pick solid conservatives. While the RINOs were out having dinner with Obama, Palin-backed conservatives were standing with Rand Paul in a filibuster. She’s endorsed people from all different walks of life: ranchers, dentists, veterinarians, “and that’s the way it’s supposed to be,” he said. Obama uses far-left lawyers who may be book smart but have no common sense.

One of the hosts said, “I love Sarah. She tells the truth.” She contrasted Gov. Palin with Hillary Clinton who she described as “a lying sack of crap.” Clinton lied about Benghazi and was ultimately responsible for the deaths of four Americans.

On Obama’s Lack of Emotion for Americans…

Scholla said Obama has no emotion for Americans killed and cited the Boston terrorist attacks and Benghazi as examples. Not mentioned in the interview, but another glaring example would be Chris Kyle, who went forgotten by Obama, but whose funeral Gov. Palin attended, sacrificing her own birthday to do so. Scholla said Obama reads from a teleprompter and always must say ‘not all Muslims are bad, when America’s guts are ripped out’. He said the Democrats win because they’re always on the same page.

Conservatives will hold their noses and vote for a moderate, but moderates won’t support conservatives post-primary. Scholla cited McCain and others going to dinner with Obama, McCain being soft on Obama during the 2008 campaign while Gov. Palin called out his lack of accomplishments, lack of experience and nefarious associations. One of the hosts said Gov. Palin had more experience than Obama.

Liberals Only Care About Control

Scholla said the Democrats and liberals only care about control, not the groups they vociferously claim to protect. “They don’t appreciate what we have” as a country, he said, citing Obama’s apology tour at the beginning of his first term.

RINOs and Media Cling to Power

He spoke about the confluence of the guns and immigration issues as Boston came under attack from foreign terrorists. Scholla lauded Gov. Palin’s uncompromising position on the Second Amendment. He said Gov. Palin’s endorsements in the 2010 and 2012 races and beyond into this year and 2014 will force change in the Republican party. Scholla and the hosts spoke about leftist media reporting of Gov. Palin, how McCain and the establishment RINOs desperately want to hold on to power, how Palin-endorsed candidates such as Ted Cruz and Rand Paul focus on the Constitution, while the RINOs insult them and provide only sour grapes.

Scholla recounted how the media has twice covered satires on Gov. Palin as real news stories and how the left is obsessed with “green,” recycling, and earth day, but have a hatred of Christmas, guns, and large sugary drinks. He described how New York City – which wanted to ban the large drinks – is pushing failed students ahead, while good teachers are shackled by school administrations and their own unions. The “union dues go to advertising for Democrat candidates.”

Scholla and the hosts spoke about the leftist hate-fest on Gov. Palin, and men who do not defend her. The hosts spoke about the old “I can see Russia from my house” flap. Russia and Alaska are next to each other and as governor, Sarah Palin was receiving classified briefings. “She cannot have been governor and been stupid,” they said.

Scholla said, “people call her dumb because they have no dirt. Obama is not dumb. He knows exactly what he is doing. He wants to turn us to a European socialist nation.”

Leftist Hypocrisy

Scholla and the hosts spoke about leftist hypocrisy starting with the gaffes of both Quayle and Gore, and how leftists trawl Tea Party rallies looking for one nut to discredit the whole movement. Meanwhile, cities had to clean up huge messes from pro-marijuana and Occupy rallies, the latter being punctuated by rape, vandalism, and violence. They spoke about how the left exploits children to promote gun control following the Sandy Hook horror, but has nothing to say about Kermit Gosnell’s infanticides – snipping the spines of babies born in his botched abortions.

There has been a virtual media blackout on the Gosnell trial. “Gosnell is possibly the biggest serial killer in history,” Scholla said. He is not a doctor and often had his “interns” do the “procedures.” Scholla noted that Obama is a big proponent of partial birth abortion having voted for it numerous times. In the left’s world, it’s okay to post death wishes against Sarah but not Gosnell. We should be harsh on child molesters and murderers, and Scholla cited Gov. Palin’s position on Jerry Sandusky.

Keeping the Grassroots Involved…

The hosts said we need to keep grassroots involved and engaged to avert another catastrophe. Scholla said, “I’ve noticed in our movement, we’re all for a cause or candidate – as long as we’re getting all the credit.” The Left is a machine and gets things done. He said if our elected representatives “see that calls are not coming from us, they assume we’re for what they’re trying to push. You have to speak up and it’s easy to do online, with phone calls,” and so forth.

No More Politicians. We Want Real People….

One of the hosts, Barbara said she makes calls all the time to a North Carolina Senator, and never gets responses. Many others complained about this as well.

Scholla said politicians go to Washington and engage in power grabs. “It’s a cesspool of ‘do what I say and I’ll do this for you.’ You’re supposed to be a public servant – there to serve the people. Palin-endorsed Cruz has been good on all angles. It can be done. There is a lot of pressure there. Many Palin supporters would like to see her do something down the road.” She could run for Senate either in Alaska or Arizona or run for President, “but even if she doesn’t run, she still has that unique way of affecting culture that others do not. How many people have the following, websites, books, that she has?”

Scholla harkened back to Sen. Cruz saying his campaign “phones lit up like Christmas trees” when Gov. Palin endorsed him. The same thing happened with Sen. Fischer. Even for the ones who lost like Steelman, Kirk Adams, “the endorsement got the conversation going.”

The hosts spoke about the Indiana Senate race with Lugar and Mourdock and the Missouri race with Steelman and Akin, and the media traps Akin and Mourdock fell in. They also described how Lugar would not endorse Mourdock. “When conservatives win primary sour grapes come out,” Scholla said. He spoke about the Presidential debates with far left moderators and how it’s best to “call them out, so at least if you lose, you lose swinging.”

The hosts said they “don’t want smooth talking politicians.” Scholla said, “I don’t want a politician. I want a person.” The hosts agreed. No teleprompters, no canned speeches. Real people. But, Scholla noted, “as soon as someone speaks from the heart, they’re painted as ‘not a good politician.’” He said, “Gov. Palin’s real record is of: bi-partisanship, she stood up to big oil, able to work together, and actually produce. You’d be hard pressed to have have this information and believe the false narrative.”

Gov. Palin Running?

The hosts asked Scholla if he thought Gov. Palin is going to run for President in 2016.

“We got so emotionally invested in a possible run in 2012. I was able to take it; she was playing the media, driving the left absolutely bananas. She’s not doing that right now. She’s just doing her thing, and endorsing great candidates, helping potential candidates, calling Obama out for every move he makes. I’m not copping out. I don’t know. One moment, I feel – like when she put that video out – that she will run, and others – when she speaks highly of Rand Paul – I don’t. I know whether she runs or not, she will effect positive change. She will make the right decision one way or or the other, not only for her, but I think for the country, because she comes about decisions the right way – through prayer, common-sense…she is 49 years old. She’ll be there,” he said.

The hosts said “we do need her in the field to get the good people we need to run, then she should run herself.”

SarahNET Radio: Values Coaltion Founder on 30-Year History, Palin Support

Reverend Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition is the guest on The Palin Radio Update with Kevin Scholla! Sheldon started TVC over thirty years ago and his group is fighting harder than ever. Hear about the battle against ENDA and find out what other issues are most important in the country today. Sheldon tells Kevin which politicians in Washington are standing up for the American family. Sheldon also discusses Sarah Palin, calling her a ‘wonderful person’ who has found the truth and knows how to say it in a positive and rational manner. Also, Governor Plain and countless others Stand With Rand during and after Senator Paul’s historic filibuster. Plus, Willow Palin and two of her friends go to bat for those with special needs and Governor Palin shines at Southeastern University’s seventh annual leadership forum. Steel Resolve, our weekly commentary with Sarah Steelman is also featured. Steelman weighs in on Rand Paul’s bold move in DC.

History to Serve Gov. Palin Well. She Will be a “Great Idol”

Rev. Sheldon has been an enthusiastic supporter of Gov. Palin for years and he agrees with her on almost all fronts. “I just wish the state would have defended her better and that she would not have had to resign as governor, although those false accusations had to be cleared up and they were all cleared up. So, history will do her well. She’ll be a great idol.”

Scholla noted that when the accusations were made, they were front page news, but when Gov. Palin was cleared, it was buried if even mentioned. “Well, that’s the mentality and the DNA of the liberal press. They don’t want to tell the truth. They just want to tear down and be the prophets of doom. They cannot deal with the fact that someone has found the truth and is able to speak it in a rational and positive manner,” Rev. Sheldon said.

What caught Rev. Sheldon’s eye when Gov. Palin hit the scene and also when the false allegations were leveled was, “well basically she is just a wonderful, wonderful person in her own right. She is an outstanding mother and a quite committed and devoted wife. So this is why I think it is so important to understand. She had such huge crowds. I mean, she was drawing better than job McCain.” He continued, “I attended a lot of those rallies in different parts of the country, especially here in Southern California. She came into the huge stadium and we had 20-some-thousand people. Just jammed. And from experience I knew that I had to get there early, and I did.”

Scholla said Gov. Palin’s speeches still draw huge crowds clamoring to hear her commonsense conservative message. Her speeches at CPAC 2012 and most recently in Florida drew huge crowds. She is slated to speak at CPAC again this week.

Brief History of TVC

TVC was founded over 30 years ago in Orange County, CA because start-up churches could not use rented facilities such as schools for more than six months. Rev. Sheldon was instrumental in getting CA Senate Bill 521 passed, which lifted the 6-month limit provided their operations were conducted outside of teaching hours.

He moved on to other issues such as pro-life and the gay agenda. This took his organization into the early 1990s. Then, Rev. Sheldon went to Washington to take on national issues. He fought successfully to have Bible studies be permitted at schools which receive federal funding provided it is done outside instructional hours.

Rev. Sheldon recounted how Lyndon Baines Johnson vindictively pushed through a Senate bill in the 1950s barring 501 (c) 3s from speaking about elected officials. Johnson, a legislator at the time did this to get back at two brothers who said he was soft on communism. Rev. Sheldon is supporting House Bill 147 which would repeal that decades old law, giving churches the right to speak about political issues just as unions do.

While Rev. Sheldon is pleased about the conservative take-over of the US House of Representatives, we took some losses in 2012 and he maintains a guarded optimism for 2014. He is concerned about a California state legislation that proposes to strip churches of their non-profit status at the state level for hosting a Boy Scout troop. He thinks such legislation would violate the First Amendment, however, the leftists backing the bill have a super-majority. “These are the kind of issues we deal with on a day-to-day basis,” Rev. Sheldon said about the TVC.

TVC Uncovers Over $500 Million in Waste

Though fighting for pro-life and traditional marriage is within the Coalition’s purview, they also uncovered over $500 million in waste at the National Institutes of Health. He cited a grant to fund a study on how many drinks it takes for one New York City homosexual student to seduce another. The grant was $250 million per year for three years totaling $750 million. Rev. Sheldon is working with Paul Ryan to expose this waste. Money is needed to research cancer, arthritis, and Alzheimer’s Disease, he said.

The Battle Against ENDA

His daughter, Andrea Lafferty works for TVC and has been at the forefront of fighting the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA). While the title suggests fairness and justice, the ENDA means a trans-gender could teach at any public school that receives federal money. The ENDA was defeated in 1994, 2006, and 2010, but has become an issue once more.

The TVC’s website is Traditional Values.

Founding Fathers, Gov. Palin on Faith, Morality, Constitution

Scholla quoted George Washington’s Farewell Address. “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports.”

John Adams said, “this Constitution was written only four of religious and moral people. It is unfit for any other,” Rev. Sheldon added. “With all these social issues, it’s totally in the hands of the ‘any others.’”

Scholla said Gov. Palin endorsed great conservatives such as Ted Cruz, Ted Yoho, Deb Fischer and Paul Gosar. He asked Rev. Sheldon if more are needed. “Absolutely. If we do not have these kinds of people, then the wear and tear by the secular godless emphasis will continually come up. They believe in the ‘big lie’: the separation of church and state. Nowhere does our Constitution say that, so this is why we have to have more of the Marco Rubio’s and the Ted Cruz’s, and there’s a great guy in the House – Louie Gohmert and many others. He said Rep. Cotton the new Congressman from Arkansas is another example of a Constitutionally based conservative who also is spiritual principles-based.

Steel Resolve: I Stand With Rand

“Thank goodness for Sen. Rand Paul, a true patriot and statesman. It does my heart good as an American for someone who was elected to have enough passion and guts to standup and defend our precious Constitution,” Sarah Steelman said as she opened her Steel Resolve segment.

She continued, “Sen. Rand Paul drew attention to the fact that Pres. Obama was Unwilling to say ‘no’ to the use of drones for killing American citizens on American soil. I’ll say it again: ‘thank goodness for Sen. Paul’s willingness to do what every Senator Republican or Democrat should’ve done.’ He used the filibuster to not only bring attention to the issue, but have a public discussion about it on the floor of the United States Senate, which is so important to our ability to govern ourselves.”

Steelman went on, “transparency in government is what ensures our ability to hold our elected officials accountable. We have a lazy press and a president who conducts meetings in secret along with Congress. So it is absolutely refreshing for Sen. Rand Paul to take the floor of the Senate and fight for what is right.” She concluded, “he used his power as a member of the minority to get answers to questions, which is the way the filibuster is supposed to work. If every important issue was debated on the floor of the Senate with reasonable arguments presented and with every Senator seated in the chamber and listening, and participating our government might just be more effective.”

Counter-Attacks to Leftist Smears

Shapiro said the most common leftist tactic is to label conservatives as “racist,” “homophobic,” or “sexist.” Colin Powell – who was appointed by a Republican – has gone on record as saying those who don’t support Obama and his leftist policies are “racist.” Shapiro said the biggest mistake we can make is conceding that these people are somehow “reasonable,” while they portray us as “scum of the earth.” Romney portrayed Obama as a well-meaning but incompetent President, while Obama characterized Romney as an evil man who hates poor people. People would rather vote for someone incompetent than evil. Shapiro said when debating leftists, we must call out their tactics up front and give them no quarter. He said some like Chris Matthews and Piers Morgan only want to demagogue issues and they are are not deserving of civility, because they are uncivil. Demagogues cannot be reasoned with, he said.

The left traffics in fear. For instance, if you support the Second Amendment, they’ll say you do not care about the children who were shot last month in Newtown, Connecticut. They played the race card to the hilt in the Zimmerman case. Zimmerman, who is Hispanic – and ironically an Obama voter – was labeled “white” – to turn a normal self-defense case into a major race issue, in which Obama interfered. Shapiro said some leftists play the race, gender, and sexual orientation cards, because they know it is an Alinsky tactic that works. Many actually believe it. Shapiro said liberalism is about “feeling good,” and feeling “morally superior.”

“It is time to punch back twice as hard,” Shapiro said, adding that we need more candidates like Gov. Palin and Ted Cruz who speak the truth up front. Presenting someone like Obama as a “nice guy” was not the way to go for Romney and McCain before him.

Shapiro said the hatred rained upon Gov. Palin and her family by the left is rooted in leftist ideology. The left sees itself as standing up for “victimized groups”: women, minorities, gays, etc., therefore anyone who opposes leftist ideology must hate these groups. Someone like Gov. Palin – a conservative woman – flies in the face of leftist ideology and forces leftists to actually discuss the issues. They can’t demonize her as someone who hates women, so she poses a real threat to them. “Anyone who is a member of a ‘victimized group’ who disagrees with the left is at the top of the left’s hit list and they’re demonized as evil,” Shapiro said.

He said the media is the worst, because “at least politicians have a ‘D’ after their name,” but the media “pretends to be objective.” Shapiro said the media creates an Orwellian world where they pretend to be objective and hold conservatives out to be “dishonest.” He praised Gov. Palin for calling out the leftism of hosts such as George Stephanopoulos, and said he uses the same tactic himself.

Shapiro worked with Andrew Breitbart and he said the late Breitbart would have loved his book, because “he devoted his life to fighting bullies.” He said, when handling the left, we need to understand that “we did not pick the fight, but we’re going to end it.”

Shapiro expressed his gratitude to the Palins for promoting his book and giving away copies. He said he was a big fan.

Steel Resolve: Now…the Debt Ceiling

Sarah Steelman said Obama refuses to negotiate with Congress about the debt ceiling, yet this is the “time to be passing significant spending cuts and / or a balanced budget.” She said “Standard and Poors has already downgraded our debt, because Congress will not deal with long-term debt reduction.” Obama is blaming the downgrade on not raising the debt ceiling. “Nothing could be further from the truth.” Now, Moody’s may also downgrade our debt. Steelman quoting Moodys, said, “negotiations should lead to specific policies that result in a stabilization, and then a downward trend in the ratio of federal debt to the size of the economy over the medium term.” She concluded, “we the people must demand that Congress not raise the debt ceiling unless a balanced budget is passed with a cap on the size of government. This is the only way we will get our country headed back in the right direction and our fiscal house in order.”
